About
Learn together. Grow together.
The FSU Tuba-Euphonium Studio is a community of musicians committed to learning from one another, challenging ourselves, and growing together.
We believe some of the best learning happens through collaboration. Lessons, studio class, rehearsals, performances, and conversations all provide opportunities to share ideas, listen critically, ask questions, and learn from the experiences of others. Every student brings something valuable to that process.
Find your unique path.
There is no single path to becoming a successful musician. Each student enters the studio with different experiences, strengths, interests, and goals.
Our work together is designed to help students better understand themselves as musicians and learners. We focus not only on what to practice, but on how to learn: developing effective practice strategies, critical listening skills, thoughtful self-reflection, and the ability to solve problems independently.
Join a collaborative community.
Being part of the studio means being part of a community. Students learn alongside one another, support each other’s successes, and contribute to an environment where curiosity, experimentation, and high standards can coexist.
Individual lessons are an important part of that experience, but they are only one part. Studio class, Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble, Marching Chiefs, and FSU’s incredible wind ensemble and symphony orchestra program all contribute to our development as musicians.
Prepare for whatever comes next.
Ultimately, our goal is bigger than preparing for the next lesson, recital, audition, or competition.
We want students to develop the musicianship, independence, adaptability, and curiosity they will need to build meaningful lives in music. Whatever direction their careers take, they should leave the studio equipped to listen critically, learn independently, collaborate generously, and continue evolving as musicians and people.
